Caroline is Director Solent Business School at Solent University Southampton and proud that as well as holding the Small Business Charter award we are currently ranked Top 30 UK for Business Management and Marketing (The Guardian Best UK Universities Guide 2022).
A marketing consultant and former media industry business development director, Caroline began her academic career in 2008 when she joined University of West London Business School, building successful partnerships there and at University of Roehampton. Prior to this, Caroline worked in management and marketing, latterly as Business Development Director for TEQUILA, a marketing agency, part of Omnicom’s TBWA global communications group.
Caroline is committed to applied business learning and teaching and excited by the important role that Solent University Southampton can play in supporting the local and national economy – especially during these challenging times. Solent launched its Business Advisory Board last year and she is keen to look at ways in which Solent Business School can enable student success and work with and alongside the business sector to develop enterprising and innovative solutions: https://www.solent.ac.uk/work-with-us – provide practical help, smart thinking, research and knowledge exchange. This includes leadership development through the innovative Govt funded Help To Grow Management scheme as well consultancy, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications.
Solent Business School has a focus on innovation and sustainability through its Regenerative Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Research Group and the University is also home to the globally renowned Warsash Maritime School, which recently launched the Marine Sustainability Research Centre and Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) Research Centre.
Like VentureFest South Solent Business School is committed to innovation so it is relevant that the School is part of our wider Faculty of Business Law and Digital Technologies and that our University has won a regional bid to set up a Maritime Engineering and Digital Institute of Technology as part of a consortium which aims to meet the region’s future workforce needs across maritime, engineering and digital technologies – connecting learners across the educational partners through innovative learning opportunities and an employer-led curriculum.
