Councillor Steve Pitt is the Cabinet Member for Culture and City development, the ward member for Central Southsea and the Deputy Leader of the Portsmouth City Council. Steve is also the representative for the council on a number of outside bodies, trusts and committees involved in the creative industries sector.
He has worked in Cultural and Creative Industries for many years. He has run a music venue, toured with artists such as Nik Kershaw, promoted thousands of gigs and been an agent and manager for a number of artists.
Steve is also an experienced theatre director, having directed over 40 professional productions dating back to the 1990s. One of which was an award-winning production of a new work by a local author at a London festival. He has also been involved with Event Management both small and large scale.
As the founding Chair of Portsmouth’s Culture Partnership, Steve led the group through its first 6 years.
