Latterly Nick has moved into managerial and leadership roles in these sectors, most recently as the Head of Innovation leading the Innovation Labs team at BAE Systems Maritime Services. This role is wide ranging in terms of identifying and developing novel concepts and technologies, as well as working with both internal and external customers to identify and assist in the resolution of their challenges.
Nick is a Chartered engineering and a Fellow of the IET, a European Engineer via FEANI since 2008 and an INCOSE Expert System Engineering Professional (ESEP) has an active and robust continuing professional development record. Additionally, Nick received the coveted BAE Systems Engineering Fellow status in 2020, joining a family of distinguished and respected engineers within BAE Systems.
Nick has deep and long-held interest and knowledge of worldwide naval affairs, including platforms, sensors and effectors, along with a strong understanding of land and air domains.
Nick’s biggest personal achievement was raising ~£70k to send his son, who suffers from cerebral palsy, to the United States in 2013, for a life changing operation along with the related physiotherapy and recovery period. As of 2016, his son now walks independently and is continually improving; prior to the operation, he had limited mobility.
