University of Winchester launch handbooks created to provide insights and inspiration to creative community.

Venturefest South partners, The University of Winchester, is proud to be involved in the development and delivery of the Winchester District Cultural Strategy for 2030. The University of Winchester believe in the transformative power of culture and creativity. As a local anchor institution, they are dedicated to building a thriving and dynamic community where art, celebration of their heritage, and innovation flourish.
During the development of Winchester’s cultural strategy, a series of questions and data gaps were identified. To address these, the University of Winchester, in partnership with Winchester City Council, commissioned Worthwhile Works to delve into these issues.
Worthwhile Works has created practical handbooks packed with actionable ideas. Each handbook aims to inspire and equip stakeholders with successful models used by other places, with the purpose of driving meaningful change in the way in which Winchester celebrates and supports its creative community.
There are three handbooks, covering ‘The Creative Economy’, ‘Youth’ and ‘brand’. They each collate insights drawn from many discussions with local businesses, organisations and practitioners, exploring their challenges and opportunities.
Whilst these handbooks celebrate the significant contribution the district of Winchester makes to the region’s creative economy, the insights and models provide a powerful roadmap for our region.
