Vibration control technologies have been studied extensively and take on many different forms based on the performance requirements and other physical constraints required for the application. However, traditional manufacturing techniques can be limiting in terms of the feasible geometries and cost, especially in the case of bespoke systems. This research investigates the potential uses of multi-material additive manufacturing in the production of novel vibration control systems. At VentureFest, we will be presenting some novel applications of multi-material additive manufacturing in acoustic back holes and meta-materials. We are looking forward to speaking to people from other industries and seeing a broader range of potential areas in which this research could be used.
