TRUEinvivo DOSEmappers transform radiotherapy
Every year 10m cancer patients globally receive radiotherapy to kill tumours but side effects can be serious. 30% of radiotherapy patients are harmed or failed by their treatment, some for life.
TRUEinvivo makes tiny radiation detectors, called DOSEmappers, from strings of micro silica beads that slide inside a patient next to the tumour. High-resolution dose measurements enable clinicians to check whether radiation hits as planned or where and what else it hits in error. Treatment corrections can be made the next day.
This unique personalised treatment saves lives and reduces ongoing costs for medical providers.
