Dr James Brown is the Co-Founder and CEO of Supersense Technologies, a Cambridge-based technology startup transforming dementia care with an innovative, privacy-preserving at-home monitoring service that help people with dementia remain independent and makes caring easier for families. An electronic engineer, entrepreneur, and veteran, James draws on over a decade of R&D experience for the Ministry of Defence and in industry. He is at the forefront of developing technologies that empower people with dementia and provide essential support to families.
At Supersense Technologies, James and his co-founder, Dr Matt Ash, are pioneering patent-pending technology that revolutionises dementia care, all while preserving dignity and privacy. Recently named finalists in the Longitude Prize on Dementia, their vision is to create technology that integrates seamlessly into everyday life, offering families meaningful insights and enabling them to take proactive steps to maintain independence.
In addition to his work at Supersense Technologies, James serves as a trustee for a mental health charity and raises funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. He recently completed a 980-mile cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise awareness and support for their vital work.
