Promoting the culture and history of the local area, and tackling the growing issues of social isolation and dementia among elderly residents
What’s the innovation?
Our company uses interactive digital treasure hunts around the city to challenge local residents in games that test participants’ maths, word and observation skills, as well as teaching them about the area in which they live. These challenges are accessible via the website and can be played on smartphones or digital tablets. For those residents who have mobility issues, we provide a pedal-powered rickshaw type vehicle to allow these people to take part. The treasure hunts are free to participate in and provide a wide-ranging set of benefits including education, engagement with the community, fresh air and exercise.
So, what are you looking to get from the event?
I aim to attract corporate sponsorship of my interactive treasure hunts in order to sustain the charitable side of the business. I believe that to take my business to the next level I would need between £8,000 and £10,000. This is an estimate based on costs of insurance, digital development, and promotion.
