University of Southampton receives new funding to support businesses taking on interns
Venturefest South partner, University of Southampton has recently had a significant amount of funding approved to support organisations in taking on its students for internships.
University of Southampton internships are an opportunity for students to work shorter term on a meaningful project and for employers to benefit from their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm! UoS Internships can be part-time during term-time (7-10 hours per week) and/or full time during a vacation period. We are able to offer grant funding to support an internship with an employer:
Start-ups
The University is able to offer £2.300, on the condition that the internship opportunity is exclusive to our students, the successful student is paid the real living wage – £10.90 – and the student works a minimum of 210 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks’ full time). This grant fund is roughly equivalent to 100% of the student’s rate for 210 hours.
Charities/CICs
The University is able to offer £2.300, on the condition that the internship opportunity is exclusive to our students, the successful student is paid the real living wage – £10.90 – and the student works a minimum of 210 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks’ full time). This grant fund is roughly equivalent to 100% of the student’s rate for 210 hours.
Local SMES
The University is able to offer £1,150, on the condition that the internship opportunity is exclusive to our students, the successful student is paid the real living wage – £10.90 – and the student works a minimum of 210 hours. This grant fund is roughly equivalent to 50% of the student’s rate for 210 hours.
SETsquared partners
The University is able to offer £1,500, on the condition that the internship opportunity is exclusive to our students, the successful student is paid the real living wage – £10.90 – and the student works a minimum of 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks full time). This grant fund is roughly equivalent to 50% of the student’s rate for 280 hours.
Graduate Internships
The University is able to offer £1,500, on the condition that the internship opportunity is exclusive to our students, the successful student is paid the real living wage – £10.90 – and the student works a minimum of 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks full time). This grant fund is roughly equivalent to 50% of the student’s rate for 280 hours.
