Themes
This year, the event is structured around three core themes; Seed, Grow, and Sell – each representing a critical stage in the entrepreneurial journey. These themes are designed to help guide you through the various phases of business development, from initial ideas to scaling and market success. Talks, workshops, and activities will be coded according to these themes, so that you can easily navigate the event and focus on the most relevant content to you!
The Innovation Zone
The Innovation Zone is the main hub of the showcase where you’ll be welcomed to the event – it’s where the magic happens! Gather here at 9:30 where Venturefest South chair, Ed Gould will be joined by an extra special guest ready to ignite innovation and entrepreneurial spirit ahead of a jam-packed day.
This is also where our fabulous Innovators will be showcasing their weird and wonderful innovations. You’ll also find many of our Exhibitors and Partners in this zone who help make VFS possible.
Be sure to meet us back here at the end of the day for the highly anticipated VFS Awards and drinks reception.
The Innovation Zone isn’t complete without the Innovation Talks! Join our expert speakers and panelists. We’re shaking it up a little this year with each of our Innovation Talks sessions containing two short talks and a panel session – there’s a multitude of knowledge for you to gain in these one-hour sessions!
Early-Stage Innovation and Investment: 11:00 – 12:00

Scaling and Revenue Growth: 12:30 – 13:30

New Entrepreneurs Zone
Be sure to visit the New Entrepreneurs Zone to meet emerging talent from the region’s universities and FE colleges. New inventions, innovations and bleeding edge business ideas are on display, so come and meet the minds behind them. Share your experiences and stories with this zone’s residents and we guarantee that, in exchange, you will take away enthusiasm and inspiration to help you with your business or idea.
The New Entrepreneurs Zone is also where you’ll find our famous Open Mic competition! Open Mic has been a big part of Venturefest South since the beginning. This interactive, informal and fun pitching competition is open to all, no matter what your experience, investment readiness or what stage you are at in development. Competitors get just three minutes to pitch their latest and greatest idea to a panel of expert judges and an enthusiastic audience of innovators, investors and entrepreneurs.
Outdoor Exhibits
Be sure to check out our outdoor exhibits — you can’t miss them! This year’s lineup features an awe-inspiring Formula 1 racing car, a massive human-powered aircraft with a 24-meter wingspan, a cutting-edge Tech Truck, and an autonomous underwater vehicle, plus many more exciting displays.
